For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for helping others. Growing up, myself and other members of my family struggled maintaining a healthy, positive mindset. Overtime, these constant negative thoughts evolved into symptoms of anxiety and depression. Living with this experience has encouraged me to pursue an education in psychology, so that I can provide the same comfort and support that I needed, to others. As I continued to navigate stressful circumstances in my life, I recognized the importance of prioritizing self-care. For me, this comes in the form of walking on a beach searching for sea glass, kayaking on a lake, snuggling with my cats, or (my favourite) taking a nap. Through my own self-care journey, I have developed a deep appreciation for how our mental, physical, and spiritual health all play a part in our overall sense of wellbeing.
Everyone’s journey to overall wellness will be unique. As a Counselling Therapist, I aim to provide judgment-free support while we navigate your unique journey together. My goal is always to provide a warm, safe, supportive space for my clients, so you feel comfortable navigating your own journey of growth and self-discovery. Using a collaborative, strength-based approach, I work with you as we take all factors of your life into consideration, to recognize your own value and self-worth to facilitate meaningful change. I support teens, adults, and couples, who struggle with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma through solution-focused therapies, as well as emotion-focused, and cognitive-behavioural therapy to assist in overcoming various experiences of trauma.
I have a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and I am a Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I am currently accepting new clients and can be available for both in-person or virtual, as well as daytime or evening appointments!
