I was born and raised in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. My first introduction to therapy was during my first undergraduate degree, when I reached out for help to overcome anxiety. The skills I developed during this experience were incredible, and I still use what I learned to this day.
After pursuing several other career paths following university, none of them felt quite right, and I always had therapy in the back of my mind. Right before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided I was finally ready to pursue an education in psychology and a career as a therapist. Volunteering as a crisis responder for Kids Help Phone throughout the height of the pandemic solidified my decision to join the helping profession, and I have not looked back.
My background consists of customer service, sales, and marketing, and I have also worked as a freelance makeup artist. After working with many people in these varying roles throughout the years, I realized that walking beside others on their journey toward wellness is my purpose in life. Specifically, working as a makeup artist allowed me to understand of the importance of using a calm, positive energy to connect with others.
I work from a cognitive behavioural perspective and believe in the power of positive thinking. I believe everyone has positive qualities and strengths that can benefit themselves and others. I like to collaboratively work with clients while they develop a strong sense of self and discover tools which they can carry with them and draw from in the future.
I look forward to working with couples, or individuals over the age of 16 who are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, burnout, overwhelm, issues in relationships, and work-related stress. I am available for online or in-person appointments. If you’re ready to start your journey, I invite you to take the next step. Schedule a free phone consultation and let’s explore how I can help!
